About Mansfield Photography

Image-makers, myth-builders, bug-swatters.

👋 Hello & Welcome

Welcome to Mansfield Photography, proudly based in the not-quite-mythical town of Mansfield, Texas—home to shady parks, legendary beef jerky, and one opinionated reptile named Lore.

This site features the photography of Tim Maxwell, whose camera has wandered through glacial valleys, Texas plains, and the peculiar mystery that is roadside shrubbery. Since 2002, we’ve called Mansfield home, though some say it’s the other way around.

We specialize in archival-quality photographic prints and high-resolution stock images, with an eye for natural landscapes, small-town charm, and the kind of moments that make you look twice—and then once more, just in case.

Whether it’s a sunset over Big Bend, a wildflower that forgot how small it is, or a backyard lizard auditioning for the role of mascot philosopher, our goal is to celebrate beauty—and deliver wall art worth hanging and stories worth retelling.

About Mansfield Photography - Tim Maxwell

Every image is crafted with care and a healthy dose of poetic stubbornness. We believe in the splendor of God’s creation, the strange wisdom of stillness, and the joy of catching the world in mid-expression.

Why Mansfield Photography?

Small Business

We’re locally rooted, stubbornly independent, and fueled by sweet tea, talent, and beef jerky—not necessarily in that order. We build strong relationships, deliver what we promise, and occasionally offer unsolicited lizard wisdom.

High Quality Art

We print on archival-grade (yes, museum-level) paper, with finishes that suit wall, desk, or shrine. Sizes range from “tasteful accent” to “conversation starter.” The quality? Tim-approved. Lore-certified.*

Exclusive

You won’t find our premum work anywhere else—not in big-box bins or in your coworker’s cubicle. Images are original, handcrafted, and deeply personal… even the ones that didn’t try to impress. Turns out, honesty photographs well.

About Tim Maxwell

“Nature has been a cornerstone of my life for as long as I can remember. My love for the outdoors began with a childhood trip to Yosemite National Park, a place that instantly captured my heart. As a teenager, I found faith in Jesus Christ, who became my guiding light and rock through life’s journeys.

🥾 The Yosemite Years

In my early 20s, I embarked on a solo backpacking trip back to Yosemite—an experience so profound I stayed for nearly seven years, living and working within the park’s breathtaking landscapes. I explored countless trails, hiked to places too numerous to name, and spent evenings beneath the stars playing guitar with close friends—a tradition that shaped my love for creative connection. Though I’ve only recorded a couple of songs—“Season’s Changing” (hello, prog-rock fans) and “Steam Engine” (recorded with a childhood buddy in J-Max Band)—those years helped define my artistic roots.

💼 The Pivot

After leaving Yosemite, I spent nearly two decades in the corporate world before realizing in 2017 it was time for change. I pivoted toward the creative path I’d always longed to pursue, launching what became Mansfield Photography.

📷 The Journey Today

I focus on landscape photography and storytelling—sharing the charm of small towns across Texas and writing reflective articles drawn from years of trail-worn memory. Much of my work unfolds in State and National Parks, where I camp or sleep in the back of my car, waking early to chase the perfect shot. Whether on a hike, road trip, or long excursion, my heart remains rooted in God and nature.

🪶 Closing Note

I work tirelessly at my craft and hope that my photography resonates with those who visit Mansfield Photography—not just as images, but as quiet invitations to wonder.”

About Lore

Lizard Lore has become an unlikely muse behind the stillness and soul of our brand.

We first met Lore not in the studio, but in the quiet of a backyard summer. No endorsement, no resume. Just presence. Over time, we found ourselves building a narrative around him—not because he moved much, but because something about his unmovedness felt honest.

Lore’s inclusion throughout our site is more than whimsy. He’s a nod to the beauty of pause, the art of noticing, and the humor required to create without burning out. He reminds us that photography isn’t just about capturing movement—it’s also about honoring what doesn’t need to move to be meaningful.

You’ll find him offering subtle commentary in margins, perched on fenceposts in hero banners, or quietly judging the golden hour from a rock that’s clearly his. Lore’s contribution is mostly observational. And entirely disruptive to traditional marketing logic.
