Trinity Overlook Park

Best Time: Golden and Blue Hour

Uses: Landscape Photography, Portraits

Entrance to Trinity Overlook Park is free, but parking is limited. I have not had any problems finding a space. This is a particularly good spot to shoot various bridges (Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge and Margaret McDermott Bridge), and of course the downtown Dallas skyline. The Trinity River Trails come through here, so you can take some easy strolls on paved trails to find unique locations.

The Dallas Heritage Village at Old City Park is a great spot with a collection of historic buildings, homes, schools, churches, etc. Entry is cheap, and well worth it. You can enter many of the buildings, and they often have people dressed up from the period. Makes for some great photographs. Ronald Kirk Pedestrian Bridge

Best Time: Golden Hour

Uses: Landscape Photography, Portraits

Parking is easy to access the Kirk Pedestrian Bridge. There are often vendors and usually many people out for a stroll. Good spot for portraits / photoshoots. Not a good location for Dallas skyline photos. To capture the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge, it is better to go to Trinity Overlook Park and walk on the Trinity River Trail, or walk on Commerce St. You can get a photo of the bridge from N. Beckley and Singleton Blvd, but the area is busy with cars. Maybe try midnight on a Sunday, Even so, you’ll still need to get photoshop out to remove unwanted obstructions.
